Quite possibly the greatest match ever played. |
Shown above is a picture of Travis Crouse holding up the US Open Championship trophy.
Upsetting one of tennis' all time greats Jared Uhlman in a marathon 5 set affair. Trading sets back and forth throughout
the match neither player could gain the edge. The fifth and final set went into a tie-break where still neither player
could put away the other. In some of the most exciting tennis ever played under the lights on Center court the final
tie-break has been considered by many to be the highest quality ever seen at the US Open. Then in the match that seemingly
would never end, Crouse edged out the #1 seed.

What a historical event took place the 24th of September.
Rookie tennis doubles team Crouse/Whynot accepted an invition to play the LTC all-star female Doubles team
of the Stoddard sisters. The Stoddards proved too much for the Rookie team out of Bridgewater and defeated them easily
6-2 in a one set affair. Then in exhibition play the teams saw Crouse with the younger Stoddard face off against Whynot
and the older Stoddard. In a virtual marathon as far as one set matches can go, Whynot/Stoddard managed to defeat Crouse/Stoddard
7-6 in a nail-biting tiebreak. The final match of the day saw Crouse and the older Stoddard steam roll Whynot
and the younger Stoddard 6-2.
